More than 111,400 people have died since the magnitude-7.0 earthquake struck Haiti on January 12. Another 609,000 have been left homeless in and around the nation’s capitol of Port-au-Prince.
Within nine days of the earthquake striking, over $355 million in donations had been raised to help relief efforts, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, but there is concern that the surge of giving will soon end.
"Americans may lose interest in Haiti sooner than they did for Katrina," Daniel Borochoff, president of charity watchdog group American Institute of Philanthropy, told CNN.
If you would like to help, there are many ways to do so, and the support is still greatly needed.
How to Help Haiti: Send a Text Donation
You can send an immediate donation by sending a text message to the following organizations (the donation will be charged to your cell phone bill), compiled by MSNBC:
